The vast majority of cartoons/caricatures produced by Shamir Brothers appear in another section on this web-site - ads that appeared in newsprint. Several of these cartoon ads series are etched in our collective memory, such as "Do not despair, smoke Knesset 6" and "Al HaGovah".

So far we have discovered very few non-commercial cartoons by them: In the weekly "Akrav” (Scorpion) in 1946 and the Monthly “WIZO in Israel” in 1950-52.

We would be delighted to receive any other Shamir designed cartoons that may be lying dormant in private or public collections.

This section is devoted to two very rare items of which only one copy exists: two funny cartoon strips for the Bejarano brothers owners of the Bejarano cigarette factory and Assis (manufacturers of canned food and juice products). The cartoon strips were rooted in the organizational culture of the enterprises and the background of World War II. Ezekiel Friedman wrote the text and the cartoons were drawn by the Shamir Brothers. The scans of these unique works were provided by Yael Kantor and Aviva Raviv of the Bejarano family.
